Initial 50 Hours Oil Change
Preparation
Ensure the engine is off and cooled down before starting the oil change.
Gather necessary tools and materials (oil-cruet, new oil, etc.).
Select the oil type to be used
Oil Draining
Remove the vent plug of the bearing frame.
Upset the oil-cruet to drain the old oil.
Has all the old oil been drained completely?

Initial Setup
Remove vent plug of the bearing frame
Oil Filling Procedure
Upset the oil-cruet
Pour oil into the bearing frame through the hole of plug till you can see oil in the oil-filler elbow
Fill the oil-filler pouring oil directly into the oil-cruet and NOT into the elbow
Replace the cruet in normal position
Let oil flow into bearing frame
Repeat operation till the oil level in the cruet ceases to decrease
Pressure Test
!DANGER: Danger due to fluids in pressure. Carry out sealing tests provided with apposite protective devices.
Pre-Test Setup
Ensure all protective devices are in place
Verify that the installation is complete
Static Pressure Test
Record the static pressure reading
Is the static pressure within the acceptable range?
Vacuum Test
Record the vacuum pressure reading
Packing Seals Adjustment
Adjustment of Packing Seals Without External Flushing
Loosen the stuffing box nuts to allow a strong drip to escape
Verify the extent of the leak (drops per minute)
Tighten the stuffing box nuts progressively until the leak is reduced to a continuous and controlled drip
Wait a few minutes to allow the leak to stabilize
Check the temperature of the liquid that comes out
Is the temperature at least ten degrees lower than the boiling temperature of the flushing liquid and below 90°C?
Is the dripping rate correct (60 drops per minute for 20 mm shaft, up to 200 drops per minute for 100 mm shaft)?
Adjust the dripping if the temperature is high or dripping is insufficient
