Danger due to collision, crushing or harm. Wait for the complete pump stopping before handling the unit.

Ensure the pump is completely stopped before handling.

Drain the pump or close the pipes using a valve to prevent sudden rotation.

Wait for the pump to cool down to avoid contact with high temperature surfaces.

Disconnect the power supply and any other connections.

Ensure power supply is restored only by the maintenance operator.

Ensure the presence of at least two operators and inform the foreman about the maintenance in progress.

Wear proper safety equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, etc.).

Disconnect the electrical power supply and, if required, disconnect the electrical cables from the motor.

Remove vent plug of the bearing frame

Pour oil into the bearing frame through the hole of plug till you can see oil in the oil-filler elbow

Fill the oil-filler pouring oil directly into the oil-cruet and NOT into the elbow

Replace the cruet in normal position

Let oil flow into bearing frame

Repeat operation till the oil level in the cruet ceases to decrease

Adjustment of Packing Seals Without External Flushing

Loosen the stuffing box nuts to allow a strong drip to escape

Verify the extent of the leak (drops per minute)

Tighten the stuffing box nuts progressively until the leak is reduced to a continuous and controlled drip

Wait a few minutes to allow the leak to stabilize

Check the temperature of the liquid that comes out

Is the temperature at least ten degrees lower than the boiling temperature of the flushing liquid and below 90°C?

Is the dripping rate correct (60 drops/min for 20 mm shaft, up to 200 drops/min for 100 mm shaft)?

Adjust the dripping if the temperature is high or dripping is insufficient

Ensure all protective devices are worn

Verify that the cleaning area is clear of unnecessary personnel

Remove loose materials from piping

Remove foreign particles from reservoirs

Has welding been performed on the piping or components?

If welding was performed, ensure thorough cleaning of welded areas

Ensure the engine is off and cooled down

Gather necessary tools and materials (oil, oil-cruet, etc.)

Remove vent plug of the bearing frame

Dispose of the exhausted oil following current regulations

Pour oil into the bearing frame through the hole of plug till oil is visible in the oil-filler elbow
