Has the mechanical seal exceeded its normal life span of 4000 hours?

Is the mechanical seal being replaced?

Check the condition of the shaft sleeve

Is the shaft sleeve damaged or doubtful?

Replace the shaft sleeve if necessary

Check pump series for lubrication requirements

Is the bearing temperature within normal range (below 85°C)?

Ensure not to over lubricate the bearings

Sealed Pre-Greased Bearings Check

Inspect sealed pre-greased bearings for any issues

Pour oil directly into the cruet, not into the elbow of the oil-filler or bearing frame plug

Check for potential oil contamination

Is the bearing frame oil bath temperature below 60°C/140°F?

Is the bearing temperature below 85°C/185°F?

Measure the bearing temperature

Consult supplier for acceptable pH values and record them

Measure oil viscosity at 40°C/104°F
