Ensure the pump is completely stopped before handling the unit.

Drain the pump or close the pipes using a valve to prevent sudden rotation.

Wait for the pump to cool to avoid contact with high temperature surfaces.

Disconnect the power supply and any other connections before maintenance.

Ensure power supply is restored only by the maintenance operator.

Ensure the presence of at least two operators during maintenance.

Inform the foreman that maintenance is in progress.

Use appropriate protective devices.

Is the pump operating without abnormal vibrations or noises?

Check the alignment and conditions

Check the flow of auxiliary supply lines

Pour oil directly into the cruet, not into the elbow of the oil-filler or bearing frame plug

Check for potential oil contamination

Is the bearing frame oil bath temperature below 60°C/140°F?

Is the bearing temperature below 85°C/185°F?

Oil Quality and Viscosity Check

Measure the oil viscosity at 40°C/104°F

Is the oil viscosity between 46 and 100 centistokes?

Is the oil viscosity suitable for high operating temperatures?

Ensure the pump is turned off and cooled down

Gather necessary tools and materials (oil, oil-cruet, etc.)

Remove the vent plug of the bearing frame

Dispose of the exhausted oil following current regulations

Pour oil into the bearing frame through the hole of the plug until oil is visible in the oil-filler elbow

Verify pump series and bearing type

Is the bearing temperature within normal range (not exceeding 85°C)?
