DANGER — Excessive Temperatures

Regularly check the condition of the lubricant.

Verify oil change interval based on temperature

Ensure oil quality meets specifications

Select the correct oil quantity for the model

Is the ambient temperature below -10 °C?

WARNING — Back Pull-Out Unit Tipping Over. Risk of crushing hands and feet!

Suspend or support the bearing bracket at the pump end

Suspend or support bearing bracket 330 to prevent it from tipping over, if required

Unbolt support foot 183 from the baseplate

Undo hexagon nut 920.01 at the volute casing

Pull the back pull-out unit out of the volute casing

Remove and dispose of joint ring 411.10

Place the back pull-out unit on a clean and level surface

Ensure the following safety measures are observed

Maintenance Schedule Preparation

Prepare a maintenance schedule with emphasis on lubricants, shaft seal, and coupling

Was the pump set serviced regularly?

Were the lubricants checked and replaced if necessary?

Was the shaft seal inspected and maintained?

Removing the mechanical seal - cylindrical casing cover

Ensure preliminary steps are completed

Unscrew hexagon nuts 920.02 and push back seal cover 471 (if fitted)

Unscrew hexagon nuts 920.04, if any

Remove casing cover 161 from bearing bracket 330

Pull complete mechanical seal 433 with shaft protecting sleeve 524.01, seal cover 471 and thrower 507.01 off shaft 210

Removing the mechanical seal - conical casing cover

Ensure preliminary steps are completed

Pull shaft sleeve 524.01 with the rotating assembly of mechanical seal 433 off the shaft

Inspection of Coupling and Guards

Check the condition of the following components

Are all guards free from deformation and maintaining sufficient distance from rotating parts?

Inspection of Flexible Elements

Inspect the flexible elements of the coupling for signs of wear.

Is the alignment of the coupling correct?

Replace any worn parts of the coupling.
