Engine Fuel Filter Replace
Make the machine safe
Get access to the engine compartment
Remove the sensor housing
Unscrew and remove the filter element
Fit a new element. Lubricate the gasket of the new cartridge. Do not fill the new cartridge with fuel
Refit the sensor housing
Bleed the fuel system
Close the engine cover
Sign off on the fuel filter replacement
Battery Cleaning
WARNING Keep metal watch straps and any metal fasteners on your clothes, clear of the positive (+) battery terminal. Such items can short between the terminal and nearby metal work. If it happens you can get burned.
Make the machine safe
Get access to the battery
If the terminal posts are corroded and covered with white powder wash them with hot water
Upload a photo of the terminal posts after cleaning
Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the terminal posts
Sign off on the battery cleaning
Drive Belt Check
Make the machine safe
Let the engine cool
Remove the FEAD (Front End Accessory Drive) belt cover
Check the belt condition, if worn out or deteriorated contact your JCB dealer for any service requirements
Check the belt tension
Weight/Force: 200–230N
If necessary adjust the tension
Sign off on the drive belt check
Cooling Pack Check
Make the machine safe
Let the engine cool
Get access to the radiator
Check the condition of the coolant hoses
Check the radiator and intercooler surfaces for signs of damage
Is service required?
If service is required, provide details
Sign off on the cooling pack check
Drive Belt Adjustment
Loosen the alternator mount bolts. Do not remove them.
Pull the alternator outwards as shown to tension the belt.
Hold the alternator in position and tighten the mount bolts.
Tighten the alternator mount bolts to correct torque value.
Check the belt tension, if necessary repeat the steps from 1 to 4.
Install the belt cover.
