100 Hourly / 1 Yearly Oil Filter Change
Refer to Safety Precautions on page 121.
Your ATV’s oil filter has very specific performance requirements. Use a new Honda Genuine oil filter specified for your model or a filter of equal quality.
NOTICE: Using the wrong oil filter may result in leaks or engine damage.
This procedure requires mechanical skill and professional tools such as a torque wrench as well as a means for disposing of the drained fluid (page 226). If you do not have the skills or the tools, see your dealer.
Change the oil with the engine warm to assure complete and rapid draining.
Drain the Engine Oil:
1.With the ATV on the level ground, remove the seat (page 133) and the tank cover assembly (page 134), and then remove the oil fill cap from the front right crankcase cover.
2.Place an oil drain pan under the crankcase and remove the engine oil drain bolt (1) and sealing washer (2).
Install a New Engine Oil Filter:
100 Hourly / 6 Monthly Tires Air Pressure Check
Refer to Safety Precautions on page 121.
WARNING: Operating this ATV with improper tires, or with uneven tire pressure may cause loss of control, and you could be seriously injured or killed.
Are the tires properly inflated?
Enter the air pressure in the tires
Are the air valve caps secure?
Always check air pressure when your tires are “cold.”
A manually operated tire pump should be used rather than the high pressure system found in service stations.
Are the tires of the size and type specified in the owner’s manual for this vehicle?

Suspension Sring Adjustment
Refer to Safety Precautions on page 121.
The spring pre-load adjuster (1) has 5 positions for different load or riding conditions.
Use a pin spanner (2) to adjust the shock spring pre-load.
Select the position for the spring pre-load adjuster
Both front shock absorbers are adjusted to the same position.
Always adjust the shock absorber position in sequence (1-2-3-4-5 or 5-4-3-2-1). Attempting to adjust directly from 1 to 5 or 5 to 1 may damage the shock absorber.
