Gas Train Replacement

Shut off the gas using the manual shutoff switch located in the gas supply line

Turn the gas valve ON/OFF knob to the OFF position

Shut off power to the unit and install a lockout tag

Disconnect the gas piping at the unit gas valve

Remove the wires connected to the gas valve

Mark each wire to assist in reconnecting power to the gas valve

Remove the igniter wires and sensor wires at the Integrated Gas Unit Controller (IGC)

Remove the 2 screws that attach the burner rack to the vestibule plate

Slide the burner tray out of the unit

Belt Tension Adjusting

Motor and Jack Bolt Preparation

Check mark

Loosen the four motor mounting nuts that attach the motor to the blower rail.

Check mark

Loosen the two jack bolt locking nuts beneath the motor mounting plate.

Check mark

Turn the jack bolt locking nut counterclockwise to loosen.

Check mark

Belt Tension Adjustment

Check mark

Turn the jack bolts counterclockwise to loosen and clockwise to tighten.

Check mark

Adjust the V−belt for proper tension.

Check mark

Alignment and Tightening

Check mark

Make sure the fan shaft and motor shaft are parallel before tightening the motor mount nuts.

Sensor Alarm Test

Hold the test magnet where indicated on the side of the sensor housing for seven seconds.

Verify that the sensor’s Alarm LED turns on.

Reset the sensor by holding the test magnet against the sensor housing for two seconds.

Verify that the sensor’s Alarm LED turns off.

Recover all refrigerant from the system using a Puron (R410) gauge set

Remove the filter drier from the line using a tubing cutter

Check mark

Do not use a torch to remove the old filter drier

Check mark

Install a new replacement filter drier into the refrigerant line

Re-charge the refrigerant system

Check mark

Check that all tools are accounted for

Check mark

Verify that the system is operating correctly after replacement
