Acknowledge understanding of safety information

Ensure all safety equipment is in place

Is the pump turned off and disconnected from power source?

Remove any visible dirt and debris from the pump exterior

Read and understand the safety information regarding pump installation, operation, and maintenance.

External Lubrication Application

Apply multi-purpose grease, NLGI # 2, to all lubrication fittings using a hand gun.

Ensure lubrication is applied every 500 hours of operation.

Contact your Viking Pump® representative for specific lubrication questions.

Check Engineering Service Bulletin ESB-515 for standard grease thickener compatibility.

Ensure pressure in the chamber is completely vented

Lock out or make non-operational the driving means

Identify the liquid the pump has been handling

Obtain and understand the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid

Remove valve cap and loosen locknut

Install a pressure gauge in the discharge line

Adjust the pressure setting using the adjusting screw

Select the pump series for relubrication

Add grease to the bracket grease fitting until it comes out of the relief fitting on the opposite side of the bracket

Regrease the bearing housing until grease comes out of the shaft end lip seal

Ensure pressure in the chamber is completely vented

Lock out or make non-operational the driving means

Identify the liquid the pump has been handling

Obtain and understand the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid

Refer to TSM for procedure on adjusting end clearance for the specific pump model

Adjust the end clearance between the rotor teeth and the head

Check for improved pump performance after adjustment
