Charging Process
Turn on power to the unit and allow the system to run for 5 to 10 minutes to stabilize operating conditions.
Measure airflow across the indoor coil and compare with fan performance data.
Compare discharge pressure and liquid temperature to the Charging Charts.
Add or remove refrigerant (liquid only) as required to obtain correct discharge pressure and liquid temperature.
Check suction line superheat and condenser sub-cooling to ensure proper operation.
Split System Leak Check
Safety Warnings
Ensure only dry nitrogen with a pressure regulator is used for pressurizing unit.
Confirm no use of acetylene, oxygen, or compressed air for pressure testing.
Verify no use of open flame for gas leak detection.
