Drive and Brake Maintenance
Drive Unit Removal
Lower the forks and disconnect the battery connector
Remove the lower and grille covers
Remove the bumper
Jack the truck and block the frame
Remove the drive wheel
Remove the screws that secure the control arm stop
Disconnect the handle harness and arm angle proximity switch
Disconnect the cables/wire from the traction motor to the terminal block on the drive unit housing
Switches Maintenance
Examine the switch for signs of arcing, overheating, discoloration, cracking, or other physical damage
Measure the resistance across the switch in the closed position
Measure the resistance across the switch in the open position
Main ON/OFF switch inspection: Battery voltage B+ present on the two terminals of the switch
Main ON/OFF switch inspection: Ohmmeter reading in the OFF position
Main ON/OFF switch inspection: Ohmmeter reading in the ON position
Main ON/OFF switch removal: Successfully removed the Main ON/OFF switch
Main ON/OFF switch installation: Successfully installed the new Main ON/OFF switch
2-Position Keyed Switch (Optional): Successfully replaced the key switch
