Tapered Gibs Adjustment
- The machine is shipped with the tapered gibs fully adjusted. However, readjustment becomes necessary when the gibs wear out or loosen due to usage. This wear results in irregular feed movement, affecting machining accuracy
- Remove the right and left saddle covers
- Adjust the gibs by turning the adjusting screws on both sides of the saddle
- Gib Adjustment Steps
- Loosen the left-hand side adjusting screw; - Tighten the right-hand side adjusting screw, then loosen it by half a turn
- Retighten the left-hand side adjusting screw
- Target clearance: 0.01 mm (0.0004 in.)
- Adjust the gibs on the cross-slide using the same steps;
