Check the bedways for level and straightness

Flush out the hydraulic power unit and change the hydraulic fluid

Change cooling oil in the spindle cooling unit

Verify that there is no chip penetration

Check for the presence of minute and embedded chips

Check for wear at the wiper contact area

Verify that felt is free of chips

Check to see if the felt has hardened

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Check for noticeable irregular feed movement

If irregular feed movement is noticed, proceed with the following steps

Remove the right and left saddle covers

Loosen the gib adjusting screw at the headstock side (left side)

Fully tighten and then return by a half turn the gib adjusting screw at the tailstock side (right side)

Tighten the gib adjusting screw at the headstock side (left side)

Check the clearance, it should be 0.01 mm (0.0004 in.)

Adjust the gibs for the cross-slide in the same manner

Remove the cover at the side of the coolant tank

Draw the coolant out of the tank by the pump

Pull out the coolant tank to the right until the pump protrudes from the side cover, and pull it out to the front

After cleaning the tank, refill the coolant tank

Ensure the coolant tank does not protrude from the front rail. If the coolant tank is not installed correctly, coolant will leak
