Lube Spindle Bearings (No. 2 grease)

NOTE: grease twice daily in very dusty conditions.

Lube Rear Wheel Forks (No.2 grease)

Sign off on the daily/10 hourly maintenance

CAUTION: Inspect blade retainer and top spindle nuts regularly; also whenever a blade has been removed. Tighten to 65-75 ft. lbs. (87-100n-m). These are left-hand threads.

CAUTION: Do not work under elevated mower unless securely supported with suitable chain hoist and jack-stands.

Blades are sharp and efficient for cutting

NOTE: Out-of-balance blades will cause blade spindle bearings to wear rapidly.

Blades are re-installed correctly with curved edge or 'wing' toward deck (away from ground).

Sign off on the blade maintenance

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Pulley, square key and spacer removed from spindle shaft?

Spindle pressed from the housing?

Both upper and lower seals discarded?

Both bearing and cone assemblies discarded?

Both roller bearing cups removed from the housing?

Remove gearbox shield and PTO shaft from gearbox

Disconnect brace strap at base and move it up and out of the way

Remove the two rear mounting bolts from the gearbox mounting frame

Disconnect belt and lift rear of mounting frame

Remove gearbox from mounting frame

Remove socket-head bolts securing gearbox halves

Tap with soft hammer to break seal
