Oil Separator Replacement
Disconnection Phase
Disconnect oil return to compressor tubing at tee near discharge manifold flange on top plate.
Disconnect tubing from tee on top plate to top of discharge manifold at the tee. Loosen nut on fitting at top of manifold and completely withdraw the tubing through the fitting. Loosen nut on fitting on top plate and completely withdraw the tubing through the fitting.
Disconnect all other tubing from discharge manifold.
Disconnect discharge manifold pipe union.
Removal Phase
Remove screws holding the top plate to the oil reservoir tower. Lift top plate and the attached second-stage separator from the oil reservoir tower.
Invert top plate and second-stage separator. DO NOT REST THE ASSEMBLY ON THE SEPARATOR. Remove cap screws and washers holding second-stage separator and lift the separator from the top plate.
Lift the first-stage separator from the oil reservoir tower.
Oil System Maintenance
Preparation
Stop unit and ensure no air pressure is in the oil reservoir
Wipe away all dirt before removing the oil filler plug
Draining Oil System
Select the method for draining the oil system
Remove oil cooler drain plug
Inspection and Cleaning
Is the drained oil and/or oil filter element contaminated with dirt?
Flush the entire system reservoir, oil cooler, mixing valve, and lines if contaminated
Filter Element Life Maintenance
Filter Element Inspection
Inspect the filter element for damage
Place a bright light inside the element to check for any visible damage
Pressure Drop Check
Measure the pressure drop through the filter with a freshly cleaned element
Is the pressure drop below three (3) inches of water with the compressor running at full load?
Replacement Decision
Enter the number of times the element has been cleaned
Should the filter element be replaced?
Air Filter Maintenance
Initial Inspection
Check if the outside surface of the air filter element is evenly coated with dirt.
Cleaning Process
Remove the wing bolt and lift off the top and filter element.
Vibrate or blow heavy dirt accumulations from the element.
Direct air blast at a slight inward angle and parallel to element pleats.
Is washing of the element required?
Washing Process
Wash element with a nonsudsing household detergent and water.
Motor Lubrication
Preparation
Stop the unit
Disconnect the unit from the power supply
Lubrication Process
Remove the relief plug and free the hole of hardened grease
Wipe the lubrication fitting clean
Add grease with a hand-operated grease gun
Post-Lubrication
Leave the relief plug temporarily off
