Ensure the pump is stored in a clean, dry location away from vibration

Short Term Storage and Packaging

Verify packaging and protection measures

Confirm the pump is stored in a covered, dry location

Close control valve in discharge line

Lock out power supply to driver

Disconnect all electrical connections

Close all valves on auxiliary equipment and piping then disconnect all auxiliary piping

Disconnect discharge piping from pump

Remove coupling guard [7450.1-.2] and coupling halves [7200]

Is the impeller clearance within nominal range?

Adjust impeller clearance if necessary

Verify impeller clearance adjustment

Verify initial lubrication amounts before first start

Confirm recommended grease type

Are the new bearings already lubricated?

Pack new bearings with grease if not lubricated

Lubricate the housing as per initial lubrication amounts

Ensure not to overfill the motor or pump thrust bearings with grease

Verify the motor rotation direction is clockwise from the motor end (top).

Check the direction arrow on the support head [3160].

Turn off the driver power and lock it out to prevent starting during coupling assembly.

Mount coupling hubs/sheaves on shafts

Ensure the sleeve is removed if it was installed prior to checking rotation.

Remove all protective material from the coupling and shaft before installing the coupling.
