Is the duty condition in the safe operating range for the pump?

Ensure dirt and dust are removed from critical areas

Inspect impeller [2200] for excessive wear and etching due to corrosion.

Ensure the O-ring [4590.2] sealing surface and impeller threads are clean.

Check pump shaft [2100] for straightness.

Inspect the surface of the shaft in the bearing [3020.1-.2] areas for smoothness.

Ensure shaft surface is free of grooves, scratches, corrosion or wear.

Check ends of shaft for burrs and ensure shaft threads are clean.

Inspect the casing [1100] thoroughly, removing all burrs and foreign matter.

Check hydraulic passages for cleanliness.

Ensure the gland nuts [6580.8] are evenly finger tight

Tighten the gland nuts an additional ¼ turn

Is there a slight amount of leakage through the gland [4120.1]?

Is the leakage sufficient for proper lubrication?

Ensure packing glands are not tightened to the point where leakage is stopped

Is the gland packing adjusted to give visible leakage?

Is the gland follower aligned concentrically?

Verify bearing temperature is within the specified range

Select the lubrication group based on re-lubrication amounts

Lubricate the external duplex angular contact thrust bearing through the grease fitting [3853.2]

Ensure not to overfill the motor or pump thrust bearings with grease
