2.4.2 Long term storage and packaging

Ensure all packaging components are in place

Is the assembly hermetically sealed from the atmosphere?

Is the packaging intact and undamaged?

Rotate the pump shaft approximately 10 revolutions

Have lubricants, inhibitor oils, and greases been applied if the unit is idle?

5.8.7 Normal Vibration Levels, Alarm and Trip

Record the normal vibration velocity (unfiltered) in mm/s (r.m.s.)

Record the normal vibration velocity (unfiltered) in mm/s (peak)

Record the alarm vibration velocity (unfiltered) in mm/s (r.m.s.)

Record the alarm vibration velocity (unfiltered) in mm/s (peak)

Record the shutdown vibration velocity (unfiltered) in mm/s (r.m.s.)

Record the shutdown vibration velocity (unfiltered) in mm/s (peak)

Is the vibration within the normal range?

Is the vibration within the alarm range?

Thrust Bearing Temperature Check

Is the bearing temperature between 80–94°C (175–200°F)?

Select the lubrication group based on re-lubrication amounts

Lubricate the external duplex angular contact thrust bearing [3031] through the grease fitting [3853.2]

Caution: Do not overfill the motor or pump thrust bearings with grease

Check for any leaks from gaskets and seals

Verify the correct functioning of the shaft seal

5.1 Pre-commissioning procedure

Check that all pre-commissioning parts are in place

Rotate the shaft by hand to ensure all rotating parts move freely and there are no foreign objects in the pump casing

Start and regulate all flush lines

Start the driver (electric motor)

Slowly open the discharge valve until the desired flow is reached

Check all joints and mechanical seal for leakage
