Pre-Commissioning Procedure — Pre Start-Up Checks

Ensure all components are properly secured and installed

Verify operational readiness of systems

Pump Lubricants — Oil Bath (Synthetic Oil)

Verify lubrication intervals based on temperature

Ensure bearing temperature is 71-80°C (160-175°F)

Remove pipe plug from inboard and outboard bearing locations

Has the bearing housing been cleaned after three relubrications?

Remove coupling guard before regreasing bearings

Pump Lubricants — Grease for Life

Verify that double shielded or double sealed bearings are packed with grease by the manufacturer

Determine if the bearings require relubrication

Assess the operating temperature and speed of the bearings

Evaluate if the replacement interval is affected by operating conditions

Record the external bearing housing temperature

Is the external bearing housing temperature within the maximum limit?

Change the oil after 160 hours of operation

Examine the used oil for contaminants
