Pre-Commissioning Procedure — Pre Start-Up Checks

Ensure all components are properly secured and installed

Verify impeller clearance setting

Ensure shaft seal is properly installed

Check seal support system operational

Check bearing housing cooling system operational

Ensure support leg cooling for centerline mounting option operational

Pump Lubricants — Oil Bath (Mineral Oil)

Verify lubrication interval based on temperature

Check that the oil is free of contaminants

Ensure oil contains rust and oxidation inhibitors

Fill the bearing housing to the center of the oil sight glass with the proper type oil

Select the pump group and enter the amount of oil required

Confirm that detergent oils are not used

Pump Lubricants — Grease for Life

Is the bearing packed with grease by the manufacturer?

Should the bearing be relubricated?

Enter the operating temperature of the bearing

Enter the operating speed of the bearing

Does the bearing operate cooler than expected?

Pump Lubricants — Oil Bath (Synthetic Oil)

Verify lubrication intervals based on temperature and oil type

Ensure use of Royal Purple or Conoco SYNCON (or equivalent) synthetic lubricant

Are Viton O-rings required for the synthetic lubricant?

Fill the bearing housing to the center of the oil sight glass with the proper type oil

Verify lubrication intervals based on temperature

Remove pipe plug from inboard and outboard bearing locations

Have the bearings been relubricated three times?

Clean out the bearing housing if bearings have been relubricated three times
