Store the pump in a clean, dry location away from vibration.

Leave flange covers in place to keep dirt and other foreign material out of pump casing.

Turn the pump shaft at regular intervals to prevent brinelling of the bearings and the seal faces from sticking.

Rotate the pump shaft approximately 10 revolutions every three months.

Consult Flowserve for preservative actions if storage period exceeds 6 months.

Short Term Storage and Packaging

Ensure normal packaging is used for shipment and dry, indoor storage for up to six months.

Package all loose unmounted items in a waterproof plastic bag and place under the coupling guard.

Pump Lubricants — Oil Bath (Synthetic Oil)

Check if Viton O-rings are required for the synthetic lubricant

Fill the bearing housing to the center of the oil sight glass with the proper type oil

Record the external bearing housing temperature

Is the external bearing housing temperature within the maximum limit?

Change the oil after 160 hours of operation

Examine and describe any contaminants found in the used oil

Ensure all components are properly secured and installed

Check impeller clearance setting

Verify shaft seal is properly installed

Ensure seal support system is operational

Verify bearing housing cooling system is operational

Ensure support leg cooling for centerline mounting option is operational

Pump Lubricants — Grease for Life

Verify that double shielded or double sealed bearings are packed with grease by the manufacturer

Confirm that bearings are not relubricated

Assess the operating temperature and speed of the bearings

Determine if the replacement interval is affected by operating conditions

Check if shielded bearings are operating cooler than expected
