Pump Lubricants — Oil Bath (Mineral Oil)

Verify bearing temperature is 71-80°C (160-175°F)

Fill the bearing housing to the center of the oil sight glass with the proper type oil

Ensure no detergent oils are used

Verify lubrication intervals based on temperature

Ensure bearing temperature is under 71°C (160°F) for this interval

Remove pipe plug from inboard and outboard bearing locations for regreasable single shielded bearings

Select horizontal lubrication relubrication amounts

Select In-Line relubrication amounts

Use Exxon POLYREX EM grease for horizontal pump bearings

Use Exxon Unirex N3 grease for In-Line pump bearings

Has the bearing housing been cleaned out after three relubrications?

Verify lubrication intervals based on temperature

Remove pipe plug from inboard and outboard bearing locations

Has the bearing been relubricated three times?

Clean out the bearing housing if relubricated three times

Store the pump in a clean, dry location away from vibration.

Leave flange covers in place to keep dirt and other foreign material out of pump casing.

Turn the pump shaft at regular intervals to prevent brinelling of the bearings and the seal faces from sticking.

Rotate the pump shaft approximately 10 revolutions every three months.

Consult Flowserve for preservative actions if storage period exceeds 6 months.

Short Term Storage and Packaging

Ensure normal packaging is used for shipment and dry, indoor storage for up to six months.

Package all loose unmounted items in a waterproof plastic bag and place under the coupling guard.
