5.1 Pre-commissioning procedure
Check that the motor is properly secured to the support head
Verify all fasteners are tightened to the correct torque
Ensure the coupling guard is in place and not rubbing
Perform rotation check

Confirm shaft seal is properly installed

6.8.1 Cleaning/inspection
Ensure all parts are thoroughly cleaned and inspected
Use new bearings, O-rings, gaskets, and lip seals
Replace any parts that show wear or corrosion with new genuine Flowserve parts
Confirm that only non-flammable, non-contaminated cleaning fluids are used
Ensure cleaning fluids comply with plant safety and environmental guidelines
1 Monthly Thrust Ball Bearing Lubrication
Thrust Bearing Lubrication Conditions
Check if bearing temperature is between 80–94°C (175–200°F)
Verify lubrication interval is 1.5 months
Lubrication Process
Select the lubrication group
Apply recommended grease
Lubricate through the grease fitting [3853.2]
Post-Lubrication Check
Ensure motor or pump thrust bearings are not overfilled with grease

Are the shaft bearings to be replaced?
Check components for replacement if tolerances are exceeded

Clean and deburr bearing holder bore and lubrication port
Apply a light coating of grease or oil to bearing holder bore and outside diameter of new bearing
Press new bearing into holder to 'A' dimension
