Repeat all daily pre-start checks

Check all control system safety devices by electrically simulating faults

Tighten all exhaust connections

Tighten all electrical connections

Ensure that the engine is stopped before any servicing or repair is performed

Ensure that the area around the cap on the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank is clean

Press the tabs (2) to release the filter screen

Remove the filter screen (3) from DEF tank neck adapter (4)

Inspect the condition of the alternator winding

Inspect the cable connections between the alternator and the circuit breaker

Consult local Dealer for further guidance

Ensure fuel supply is from the base tank or remote tank as applicable.

Ensure the Racor unit is drained if necessary.

Remove T-handle and lid from the top of the unit.

Screw T-handle into centre tube finger tight.

Fill the assembly with clean fuel to just above the top of the element.

Lubricate the lid gasket and T-handle O-ring with clean fuel.

Replace the lid, seat the gasket correctly, and tighten the T-handle without using tools.

Applicable to Perkins 1506, 2206, 2506, 2806 engines fitted with pre-filter / water separator

Ensure the drain valve is tightened securely to prevent air from entering the fuel system

Catch the draining water in a suitable container
