Measure the electrolyte level above the plates/grids

Is the electrolyte level covering the plates/grids?

Add distilled water if the electrolyte level is below the plates/grids

Is the fluid level just touching the bottom of the filler tubes?

Check for fluid leaks or cracked case

Ensure fuel supply is from the correct source

With Fuel Supply from the Base Tank

Remove T-handle and lid from the top of the unit

Screw T-handle into centre tube finger tight

Fill the assembly with clean fuel to just above the top of the element

Lubricate the lid gasket and T-handle O-ring with clean fuel

Replace the lid, seat the gasket correctly, and tighten the T-handle

Operate the priming switch for 2 minutes

Ensure the generator set is stopped and there are no active or present shutdown conditions.

Verify fuel system components are in place

Priming Procedure with Base Tank

Operate the priming switch for the standard pre-set 2 minute priming cycle (Main Menu > Control > Engine Fuel Priming on PowerWizard panel).

Did the engine start within 3 crank cycles?

Repeat the prime procedure if the engine did not start within 3 crank cycles.

Priming Procedure with Remote Tank

Pre-storage Engine and Exhaust Preparation

Allow 2 minutes after engine stop before using battery disconnect switch

Cap the exhaust outlet of the aftertreatment

Fill the tank with DEF meeting ISO 22241-1 requirements

Reconnect all DEF lines and electrical connections

Ensure DEF filler cap is correctly installed

Inspect the condition of the alternator winding

Inspect the cable connections between the alternator and the circuit breaker
