Inspect battery condition using a torch if necessary

Are there any severe dents or leaks on the battery?

Ensure all load is removed before disconnecting the battery

Disconnect the negative cable first

Remove the hold-down clamp or strap securing the battery base

Check for loose fastenings, worn belts, or loose connections

Ensure fan and exhaust guards are correctly positioned and securely fixed

Wipe clean all filler caps before servicing or topping up fluids

Is there any type of leak (coolant, lubricating oil, or fuel)?

Describe the source of the leak and corrective actions taken

Remove accumulated grease and/or oil on the engine

Ensure coolant pipes are fitted correctly and secure

Inspect the condition of the alternator winding

Perform general cleaning of the alternator

Inspect the cable connections between the alternator and the circuit breaker

Consult your local Dealer for further guidance if needed

Ensure the generator set is stopped and there are no active or present shutdown conditions.

Priming with Fuel Supply from the Base Tank

Operate the priming switch for the standard pre-set 2 minute priming cycle (Main Menu > Control > Engine Fuel Priming on PowerWizard panel).

Did the engine start within 3 crank cycles?

If the engine did not start, repeat the prime procedure.

Priming with Fuel Supply from a Remote Tank

Ensure fuel lines from the remote tank are full of fuel.

Pre-storage Engine and Exhaust Preparation

Allow 2 minutes after the engine has stopped before using the battery disconnect switch

Cap the exhaust outlet of the aftertreatment to prevent damage

Fill the tank with DEF that meets ISO 22241-1 requirements

Ensure all DEF lines and electrical connections are reconnected to prevent DEF crystals from forming

Ensure the DEF filler cap is correctly installed
