Repeat all daily pre-start checks

Check all control system safety devices by electrically simulating faults

Tighten all exhaust connections

Tighten all electrical connections

Engine Start and Instrument Panel Observation

Observe the instrument panel to ensure that all gauges and meters are operating properly

Consult your local dealer for maintenance guidelines specific to your engine

Measure the electrolyte level above the plates/grids

Is the electrolyte level covering the plates/grids?

Is the electrolyte level just touching the bottom of the filler tubes?

Is there any fluid leak or cracked case?

Describe any issues found with the battery electrolyte or case

Is the liquid level below the plates/grids?

Ensure generator set is not running on load

Inspect coolant level and condition

Record initial generator load percentage

Set generator load to at least 50%

Check for loose fastenings, worn belts, or loose connections

Ensure fan and exhaust guards are correctly positioned and secure

Wipe clean all filler caps before servicing or topping up fluids

Check for any type of leak and clean away fluid

Remove accumulated grease and oil from the engine

Ensure coolant pipes are fitted correctly and secure

Ensure that the engine is stopped before any servicing or repair is performed

Clean the area around the cap on the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank

Remove the cap from the DEF tank

Use a suitable tool to press the tabs to release them

Remove the filter screen from DEF tank neck adapter
