Verify driver settings before starting the pump

Ensure warm-up rate does not exceed 2.5°F (1.4°C) per minute

Flush and clear the system to remove dirt or debris

Bring variable-speed drivers to rated speed quickly

Run new or rebuilt pump at speed for flushing and cooling

Is the pump temperature within 100°F (38°C) of the fluid temperature?

Circulate fluid through the pump for warming up

Uncouple unit if settings are not verified

Ensure all piping components are correctly installed and supported

Remove the flush line from the seal cap

Tape the collar rings together in pairs as assembled previously

Remove the seal cap or seal gland through the space between shafts

Remove the seal seat from the seal cap or gland

Store in a covered and dry location

Store the unit free from heat, dirt, and vibrations

Rotate the shaft by hand several times at least every three months

Treat bearing and machined surfaces so that they are well preserved

Refer to the drive unit and coupling manufacturers for their long-term storage procedures

Contact your local sales and service representative for questions about possible long-term storage treatment services

Ensure the pump is isolated from the system and pressure is relieved before disassembly.

Disconnect and lock out power to the driver before performing any installation or maintenance tasks.

Use proper lifting methods and wear steel-toed shoes at all times.

Ensure all replacement parts are available before disassembling the pump for overhaul.

Allow all system and pump components to cool before handling.

Close the isolation valves on the suction and discharge sides of the pump.

Open the drain valve and ensure liquid stops coming out before proceeding.
