WARNING: Never apply heat to remove an impeller.

CAUTION: Wear heavy work gloves when you handle impellers.

Remove the lockwasher and the washer.

Lubricate the shaft sleeve and coverplate seal cavity with soapy water

Install a new seal insert ensuring the indentation is against the insert gasket

Slide a new rotating seal assembly onto the shaft sleeve

Push the top of the compression ring with a screwdriver until the seal is tight against the seal insert

Install the seal spring with the narrow end pointing toward the seal

Inspect impeller vanes for grooves

Measure groove depth on impeller vanes

Inspect impeller vanes for even wear

Measure even wear on impeller vanes

Inspect vane edges for cracks, pitting, or corrosion damage

Determine if impeller replacement is necessary based on criteria

Loosen the volute capscrews but do not remove them

Use the capscrews in the jackscrew holes to loosen the pump assembly from the volute

Ensure internal pressure is relieved before continuing

Remove the pump assembly from the volute

Inspect the package for damaged or missing items upon delivery

Note any damaged or missing items on the receipt and freight bill

File a claim with the shipping company or distributor
