Thoroughly clean the shaft and sleeve

Thoroughly clean the coverplate seal cavity

Are there any damaged parts that need replacement?

Replace damaged parts if necessary

Remove the hex nuts from the seal cap bolts

Remove the hex nuts that hold the packing gland to the stuffing box

Remove the coverplate from the bracket

Remove the seal assembly or packing rings

Lubricate the shaft sleeve with soapy water

Slide the stationary seal with an O-ring onto the shaft

Measure and lock the rotating portion of the seal assembly at 55/64 in. (2.813 cm) from the seal collar to the impeller end of the shaft sleeve

Coverplate and Seal Gland Assembly

Assemble the coverplate onto the bracket

Attach the seal gland to the coverplate

Loosen the volute capscrews but do not remove them.

Use the capscrews in the jackscrew holes to loosen the pump assembly from the volute.

Ensure that the internal pressure is relieved before continuing.

Remove the pump assembly from the volute.

Remove packing materials from the product

Dispose of all packing materials in accordance with local regulations

Inspect the product for any damage or missing parts

Unfasten the product by removing any screws, bolts, or straps, if applicable

Handle nails and straps carefully for personal safety
