Verify the machine has a gas-tight shaft seal

Change the grease on the gas-tight shaft seal
Record any issues encountered during the grease replacement

Loosen the tensioning seals or the tensioning screws, depending on the silencer design
Remove the silencer cover
Check for correct operation, correct movability and exact alignment of the valve
Can the valve be moved and does it close correctly?
Attach the silencer cover and close it after the test

Remove the side-mounted sealing screws
Guide screwdrivers through the holes
