8.2.1 Maintenance schedule for normal operation

Gas-Tight Drive Shaft Grease Replacement

Refer to Chapter 8.3.4 'Replacing the grease on gas-tight drive shafts' on page 149

Is the machine equipped with a gas-tight shaft seal?

Change the grease for a gas-tight shaft seal

Ensure only service personnel perform the procedure

Follow the full grease pressing procedure as described in Initial 500 Hours Gas-Tight Drive Shaft Grease Lubrication

Maintenance schedule for normal operation

Verify operation hours or time period

Follow the full oil draining and filling procedure

Ensure service personnel are present

Draining - Version with Oil System

Allow the lube oil to cool down to ambient temperature to avoid scalding risk

Open the oil opening on the oil filling container

Feed the drain hose into the receptacle

Remove the sealing cap from the drain valve and twist the drain hose onto the drain valve

Guide all emerging lube oil into the receptacle

Remove the drain hose; The drain valve closes automatically

Screw the sealing cap onto the drain valve

Loosen the tensioning seals or the tensioning screws, depending on the silencer design

Check for correct operation, correct movability and exact alignment of the valve

Can the valve be moved and does it close correctly?

Attach the silencer cover and close it after the test

Remove the side-mounted sealing screws

Guide screwdrivers through the holes

Check the lube oil level and correct if necessary

Oil Level Too High — Version with Oil System

Allow the lube oil to cool down to ambient temperature

Have a receptacle ready for waste oil

Open the oil opening on the oil filling container

Feed the drain hose into the receptacle

Remove the sealing cap from the drain valve and twist the drain hose onto the drain valve

Guide excess lube oil into the receptacle
