Surface loaded fibers or dirt must be removed prior to water rinse to prevent restriction of airflow.

Surface loaded fibers or dirt removed with a vacuum cleaner or a soft non-metallic bristle brush?

Use of a water stream, such as a garden hose, against a surface loaded coil will drive the fibers and dirt into the coil.

Surface loaded fibers completely removed prior to using low velocity clean water rinse?

CAUTION: High velocity water from a pressure washer or compressed air should only be used at a very low pressure to prevent fin and/or coil damages.

Quarterly cleaning is essential to extend the life of an e-coated coil and is required to maintain coating warranty coverage.

CAUTION: Harsh chemicals, household bleach, or acid cleaners should not be used to clean outdoor or indoor e-coated coils.

For routine quarterly cleaning, first clean the coil with the below approved coil cleaner.

It is strongly recommended that filter media be replaced monthly.

Inspect filters located upstream of the evaporator coil.

Open access panel and pull filters straight out to inspect all of the filters.

Enter the size indicated on each filter.

Check if the arrow on the replacement filters points towards the blower.

Units with an energy recovery wheel with have additional filters.

Routine maintenance of the Energy Recovery

Wheel includes periodic cleaning of the Energy Recovery Wheel as well as inspection of the Air Seals and Wheel Drive Components.

CAUTION: Disconnect electrical power before servicing energy recovery cassette. Always keep hands away from bearing support beam when installing or removing segments. Failure to do so could result in severe injury to fingers or hand.

Cleaning the energy transfer media will help maintain optimal performance. The frequency of cleaning is largely dependent on the application and air quality. Use ASHRAE’s Classes of Air categories, to create a routine cleaning schedule.

Class 1 air has low contaminant concentration with inoffensive odor and sensory irritation intensity.

Class 2 air has moderate contaminant concentration, with mildly offensive odors or sensory-irritation intensity.

Class 3 air has significant contaminant concentration and significant offensive odor or sensory-irritation intensity.

Class 4 air has highly objectionable fumes or gases and potentially contains dangerous particles, bio-aerosols, or gases at a concentration high enough to be considered harmful, not suitable for recirculation or transfer to any other space.

Every 1-2 years Clean Dirty Air:

CAUTION: Some soaps used for leak detection can be corrosive to certain metals. Rinse piping thoroughly after leak test has been completed.

WARNING: Gas pressure to appliance controls must never exceed 14” w.c. (1/2 psi)

Manual shut off valves checked for leaks

Piping in the interior of the unit checked for leaks

All gas piping connections checked for leaks

Enter the gas pressure to appliance controls

Was pressure testing at 1/2 psi or less performed?

Was pressure testing gas supply line at 1/2 psi or higher performed?
