Set unit controls to cooling mode of operation with supply fans on

Is the fan operating in the correct direction?

Is the compressor operating correctly?

Is the compressor rotating correctly?

Ensure all gas supply lines are purged of air before turning on electrical power switch.

Turn the gas valve to the on position.

Turn the main electrical power on and set controls to heating mode.

Check all gas piping connections for leaks before operation and startup.

Check all connections for leaks annually after installation.

Is the combustion ventilation motor enabled?

Does the flame sensing probe detect the presence of the flame within 10 seconds?

Rinse the coil completely with water

Use a hard spray but be careful not to bend or damage the fins

Spray from the fan side of the coil

Spray and rinse the coil from the face

Is the water pressure below 689.5 kpa (100 psi)?

Is the nozzle 15.25 centimeters (6 in.) and perpendicular to the coil face?

Application Examples and Other Coil Cleaners

Ensure the unit is turned off before starting

Shut off all electrical power to the unit to avoid shock hazard or injury from rotating parts

Select the allowed chemical cleaners to use

Ensure water pressure does not exceed 689.5 kpa (100 psi)

Maintain a minimum distance of 15.25 centimeters (6 inches) from the coils while cleaning

Is the water aimed perpendicular to the coils?

Ensure all necessary tools are available

Is the water temperature less than 54.4°C (130°F)?

Is the water pressure less than 689.5 kPa (100 psig)?

Remove surface loaded fibers or dirt with a vacuum cleaner

If vacuum cleaner is unavailable, use a soft non-metallic bristle brush

Perform a low velocity clean water rinse on the coil
