Enter the cleaning frequency in years

Inspect the energy recovery wheel for visible dirt and debris

Is the wheel free from any visible damage?

Clean the energy recovery wheel using appropriate cleaning agents

Gain access to the aluminum energy recovery wheel

Remove the energy recovery wheel from the unit

Remove small foreign materials using one of the following methods

Use compressed air at a distance of at least 0.08 m (2 ft) from the wheel

Ensure pressure is not too high to avoid damaging the aluminum media

Use water at a distance of at least 0.08 m (2 ft) from the wheel

Check the condition of the seals

Are the seals tight and in good visual condition?

Are the non-contact seals free from being flipped, rolled, or pierced?

Is there any damage to the seals?

If seals are damaged, describe the damage and contact technical support.

Obtain access to the pulley side bearing access plate if bearing access plates are provided.

Remove two bearing access plate retaining screws and the access plate.

Loosen set screw in bearing locking collar using hexagonal wrench.

Tap collar in the direction of wheel rotation to unlock collar using light hammer and drift.

Remove two nuts securing bearing housing to the bearing support beam using socket wrench with extension.

Slide bearing from shaft or use bearing puller if not removable by hand.

Ensure the unit is turned off before starting

Shut off all electrical power to the unit to avoid shock hazard or injury from rotating parts

Select the appropriate chemical cleaner

Ensure water pressure does not exceed 689.5 kpa (100 psi)

Maintain a minimum distance of 15.25 centimeters (6 inches) from the coils while cleaning

Aim water perpendicular to the coils during cleaning
