As the year wraps up, we’re helping you head into 2026 with cleaner data, faster Purchase Order approvals, and more connected equipment insights.
Our highlight of the past month was the launch of OT Data Connectors, allowing you to turn real-time machine data into automated maintenance actions. We also brought purchase orders to mobile, and gave you a faster way to import work orders at scale.
Let’s take a closer look at what’s new at MaintainX for December.
Turn machine data into action with OT Data Connectors
Some of the most useful equipment insights live in PLCs, SCADA, and other OT systems—but that data is often hard to access and act on.
OT Data Connectors close that gap by bringing real-time tag data from Ignition, Kepware, and MQTT into MaintainX.
Once connected, you can use runtime, status, and sensor readings to:
- Trigger work orders and inspections when maintenance is due
- Automatically log downtime through Asset Status updates
- Give technicians context that helps them troubleshoot and repair faster
The result is less guesswork and more targeted maintenance—helping you reduce unplanned downtime, avoid overspending on calendar-based PMs, and get more value from your Industry 4.0 investments.
OT Data Connectors are available as an add-on. For setup guides and example use cases, visit our Help Center.
Keep purchasing moving with mobile PO approvals
When you’re managing parts and purchases on the move, waiting to get back to a desk just to approve a PO slows everything down.
Premium and Enterprise customers can now view, filter, approve, and reject Purchase Orders directly from the MaintainX mobile app.
From the new Purchase Orders module on mobile, admins and inventory leads can:
- See a list of POs by status (Draft, Pending, Approved, Fulfilled, Completed, Rejected)
- Filter and search by vendor, date, part, or status to find the right PO quickly
- Tap into a PO to review line items, costs, vendor details, approval history, and attachments
- Approve or reject a PO, just like you can on your desktop
Approvers also receive push notifications when a new PO needs attention, so critical orders don’t sit in limbo.

Onboard faster with self-serve work order imports
Whether you’re migrating from another CMMS or cleaning up legacy spreadsheets, getting historical work data into a new system can be a heavy lift.
Our self-serve Work Order Imports give you a guided way to bulk-import work orders from CSV or Excel using the built-in importer—no engineering tickets required.
Using the Work Order Imports flow, admins can:
- Upload a file with up to 1,000 work orders per import session
- Map columns like title, status, priority, dates, assets, locations, categories, vendors, and assigned users or teams
- Automatically create missing records (for example, if an asset, user, vendor, or category doesn’t exist yet, MaintainX can create it as part of the import)
- See clear error messages and troubleshooting tips when a row or file can’t be imported, so you can quickly correct and re-upload
This makes it much easier to bring in years of historical work, standardize your data, and get accurate reporting from day one—without manual re-entry.

As always, these updates are driven by your feedback and our shared goal of reducing unplanned downtime, lowering maintenance costs, and giving technicians the best experience possible.
