Flame Signal Check
Read the flame signal from the Boiler Information screen
Is the flame signal at least 2-3 μΑ at low fire?
If flame signal is low, check the ignitor condition
If flame signal is low, check ground wire for continuity
Replace ignitor if conditions are satisfactory
1 Monthly Gas Condensing Boiler Maintenance
Vent and Air Inlet Piping Inspection
Check vent piping for obstructions or damage
Check combustion air inlet piping for obstructions or damage
Pressure Relief Valve Inspection
Check the pressure relief valve for proper operation
Condensate Drain System Inspection
Check the condensate drain system for blockages or leaks
Expansion Tank Check
Closed-Type Tank Inspection
Ensure tank is partially filled with water leaving an air gap as a cushion
Ensure the tank is fitted with a device that reduces gravity circulation of air-saturated tank water back into the system
Ensure no automatic air vents are used in the system
Diaphragm Tank Inspection
Ensure the system contains a minimum of one automatic air vent
Recommended location of the air vent should be atop an air eliminator
Remove the tank from the system and check the charge pressure
Enter the charge pressure of the tank in psig
Existing Boiler Removal
Preparation
Seal any unused openings in the common venting system.
Visually inspect the venting system for proper size and horizontal pitch.
Check for blockage, restriction, leakage, corrosion, and other deficiencies in the venting system.
Building Setup
Close all exterior building doors and windows.
Close all doors between the appliance space and other spaces in the building.
Turn on clothes dryers and any appliance not connected to the common venting system.
Turn on any exhaust fans, such as range hoods and bathroom exhausts, to maximum speed.
Burner Flame Check
Flame Inspection
Inspect the flame pattern through the observation port of the heat exchanger.
Is the flame pattern fully blue and covering the entire burner surface during high fire?
Shutdown and Disassembly
Shut the unit down and allow it to cool thoroughly before disassembly.
Close the external manual gas valve on the gas supply line.
Disconnect the gas piping and gas valve wire harness connector.
Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the blower.
Remove the blower clamp and blower from the unit.
