Check the oil level through the sight gauge (17)

Is the oil level at the middle of the gauge?

Add SAE No. 30 non-detergent oil through the air vent (8) if lubrication is required

Ensure the white reflector in the sight gauge is positioned horizontally

Clean Air Release Valve Plunger Rod (If So Equipped)

Inspect Front Impeller Clearance (Wear Plate)

Inspect Rear Impeller Clearance (Seal Plate)

Ensure the pump is properly operated and maintained before disassembly.

Is there evidence of wear or damage on the shaft and bearings?

Ensure disassembly is performed in a properly-equipped shop by qualified personnel.

Ensure the area is well-ventilated and free from excessive heat, sparks, and flame.

Remove the bearing housing drain plug (19) and drain the lubricant.

Clean and reinstall the drain plug.

Ensure power source is removed to provide clearance

Remove seal cavity drain plug (18) and drain seal lubricant

Clean and reinstall seal cavity drain plug

Immobilize impeller with a block of wood between vanes and pump casing

Remove impeller capscrew and washer (28 and 29)

Shaft Key Installation and Power Source Connection

Install the shaft key (13, Figure 2)

Ensure all guards are installed over rotating members

Suction and Discharge Lines Installation

Are all piping connections tight, properly supported, and secure?
