Familiarize yourself with the manual

Disconnect or lock out the power source

Has the pump completely cooled?

Check the temperature before opening any covers, plates, or plugs

Close the suction and discharge valves

Vent the pump slowly and cautiously

Ensure the valve is in a safe state for maintenance

Gather necessary tools and materials (water-resistant grease or multi-purpose grease, small brush)

Apply water-resistant grease to the lip seal, O-ring, and plunger rod before reassembly

Add water-resistant grease through the grease fitting weekly

If valve sticks, apply grease to plunger rod using a small brush

Apply lubricant through the spring to the visible part of the shaft in both open and closed positions

Clean Pressure Relief Valve if equipped

Inspect, Clean, Adjust, Repair or Replace as Necessary
