Review all SAFETY information in Section A.

Familiarize yourself with the manual.

Disconnect or lock out the power source to ensure the pump remains inoperative.

Allow the pump to completely cool if overheated.

Check the temperature before opening any covers, plates, or plugs.

Close the suction and discharge valves.

Vent the pump slowly and cautiously.

Ensure the valve is in a safe state for maintenance

Gather necessary tools and materials (water-resistant grease or multi-purpose grease, small brush)

Apply water-resistant grease to the following components before reassembly

Add water-resistant grease through the grease fitting weekly

Is the valve sticking or operating erratically?

If valve is sticking or operating erratically

Apply a liberal amount of water-resistant grease to the plunger rod using a small brush

Replace Seal Lubrication (And Packing Adjustment, If So Equipped)

Clean Pressure Relief Valve (If So Equipped)

Inspect, Clean, Adjust, Repair or Replace Pump and Driver Alignment

Inspect, Clean, Adjust, Repair or Replace as Necessary
