Existing Boiler Removal
Preparation
Seal any unused openings in the common venting system.
Visually inspect the venting system for proper size and horizontal pitch.
Check for blockage, restriction, leakage, corrosion, and other deficiencies in the venting system.
Building Setup
Ensure the following conditions are met
Appliance Operation
Place in operation the appliance being inspected.
Follow the lighting instructions for the appliance.
Condensate Drain Assembly Cleaning
Disassembly and Cleaning
Loosen the retaining nut from the condensate drain assembly and disconnect the assembly from the boiler.
Empty any water from the trap and flush with fresh water as necessary to clean.
Remove plastic ball and clean with fresh water.
Check the drain piping from the condensate drain assembly to the drain. Flush to clean as necessary.
Reassembly
Install the plastic ball into the condensate drain assembly.
Reassemble onto the boiler by tightening the retaining nut with rubber seal onto the boiler. Hand tight only.

Is the boiler subject to freezing conditions?
Is antifreeze used in the system?
Allow the boiler to cool down to room temperature before servicing
Close the external manual gas valve on the gas supply line
Disconnect the gas piping and gas valve wire harness connector
Disassembly
Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the blower
Vent / Combustion Air Piping Inspection
Visual Inspection
Inspect the venting system for blockages
Check for deterioration of gaskets
Inspect for any leakage in the venting system
Repair any deficiencies found during inspection
Verification of Connections and Support
Verify that the combustion air inlet is connected and sealed
Verify that the vent piping is connected and sealed
Ensure that the combustion air inlet and vent piping are properly supported
Flue Gas Temperature Check
Place the boiler into high fire
Navigate to the Boiler Information Menu
Enter the flue gas temperature
Enter the supply water temperature
Is the flue gas temperature more than 54°F [30°C] above the supply water temperature?
Shut the boiler down and follow the heat exchanger cleaning procedure
