Agilent Dry Scroll Vacuum Pump IDP-15

Run the pump for about 5 seconds

Are there any loud noises or labored operation?

Disassemble the pump if necessary

Confirm the pump is ready to return to service

Note on newly installed tip seals

Remove the new tip seal from the kit

Ensure the tip seal is in one length for segments

Install each tip seal segment starting at the inside

Use a flat wooden or plastic tool to press each segment into its lock

Clean away any tip seal debris generated when pressed into each lock

Use a 5 mm Allen key to remove the six screws on the outboard housing

Remove the lower screws first to support the housing

Remove the housing and place to the side

Using a pry tool, remove the old tip seals from the orbiting plate and outboard housing

Clean all debris from the orbiting plate, outboard housing, and O-ring groove using alcohol, cotton swabs, and wipes

Remove the two screws holding the bottom bracket using a 4 mm Allen key

Support the cowling from the bottom with one hand

Loosen the four captive screws holding the cowling

Rotate the cowl to clear the exhaust port

Remove the cowling and lay it on its back

Remove the L-bracket and place to the side
