Telsmith Vibrating Aggregate Screen 4 x 10 Double Deck

Ensure cross bracing is provided if all support frames and drive units are removed.

Removal of Backplate and Discharge Lip

Support the backplate with a hoist and lift straps.

Remove the capscrews holding the backplate to the support frame.

Lower the backplate to the ground.

Support the discharge lip with straps and a hoist.

Remove the six capscrews and locknuts holding the discharge lip assembly.

Lower the discharge lip assembly to the ground.

Remove the breather assembly from the top of the bearing housing by unthreading the complete assembly at the threaded bushing.

Separate the breather cover from the mounting bushing by unscrewing the cover from the bushing.

Clean the breather assembly with solvent.

Blow dry the breather assembly with compressed air.

Check oil level in each gauge before starting the screen

Check oil level in each gauge after the first 8 hours of operation

Is the gear oil level adequate according to Table 6-1?

Have the labyrinth seals been run for 8 hours before adding more grease?

Attempt to add more grease to the zerks after the initial break in shift

Is grease visible at the seal plate/vibrating shaft junction?

Is excessive grease evident or being flung on the counterweights?

Check oil level at both sight gauges

Add additional oil through the oil manifold breather pipe if needed

Check oil level at petcocks on each side of vibrating unit

Inspect breathers for clogs and clean or replace if necessary

Check for oil leakage at bearings, shaft seals, and casing plugs

Consult Telsmith Engineering Department before proceeding

Remove the two hex head capscrews holding the counterweight shim stack

Slide the shims out one at a time off the counterweight hub

Slide additional shims on the counterweight hub if required

Fasten shims in position with the two hex head capscrews
