Vibrating Aggregate Screen Counterweight Shim Replacement

Shim Removal

Check mark

Remove the two hex head capscrews holding the counterweight shim stack to the face of the counterweight.

Check mark

Slide the shims out one at a time off the counterweight hub and lower to the floor.

Slide additional shims on the counterweight hub if required.

Fasten shims in position with the two hex head capscrews ensuring proper engagement with the counterweight hub.

Wire Support Frame Replacement

Preparation

Ensure cross bracing is provided if all support frames and drive unit/shaft casings are removed.

Check mark

Determine sequence of wire support frame removal based on screen model and drive unit/shaft casing status.

Removal of Existing Wire Support Frame

Check mark

Remove all cross braces from the bottom side of the screen frame.

Check mark

Support the back plate with a hoist and lift straps, then remove capscrews and lower the back plate to the ground.

Check mark

Support the discharge lip with straps and a hoist, remove capscrews and locknuts, then lower the discharge lip assembly to the ground.

Support the wire frame from above with lift straps at all four corners attached to a hoist.

Check mark

Cut the huck bolts holding the wire frame to the vibrating frame side walls at the four corners and temporarily replace them with bolts, nuts, and washers.

Clamp the brace being removed to the mounting tabs at both ends using a C-clamp

Hold the hex nuts from below

Remove all 3/4” capscrews holding the brace to the support frame

Support the cross brace

Check mark

Remove the C-clamps from one end at a time while lowering the brace
