Define the system high-side PS ≤ compressor high-side PS.

Isolate the high- and low-pressure sections of the system by closing valves, solenoid valves, expansion valves or by other means.

Use the internal check valve of the compressor on the discharge side or add an external check valve.

Ensure maximum pressure delta of ≤ 40 bar between the high-pressure side and the low-pressure side.

Activate the check valve with a fast pressure increase.

Slow down the pressure increase once the check valve is activated.

Apply the system test pressure of 1.1 x system high-side PS for a short time.

Ensure the pressure inside the compressor does not exceed the maximum PS value, corresponding to the compressor low-pressure PS.

Follow the lockout/tag out procedure and national regulations

Ensure compressor is connected to a grounded system

Use screwed electrical connections in all applications

Ensure electrical connections are made by qualified personnel

Remove all refrigerant before opening the system

Avoid working with an unshielded flame in a refrigerant-charged system

Compressor Operation Precautions

Do not operate compressor with restricted suction or low-pressure limiter bridged.

Ensure personal safety requirements are considered and test pressures are referred to prior to test.

Verify the use of only dry inert gases (e.g., nitrogen) for leak testing.

Confirm no other industrial gases are used for leak testing.

Check the following before starting the test

Perform leak-pressure test after opening or modifying the connections.

Ensure no refrigerant is added to the test gas as a leak indicator.

Follow the lockout/tag out procedure and national regulations before maintenance.

Use compressor with grounded system only.

Use screwed electrical connections in all applications.

Ensure electrical connections are made by qualified personnel.

Remove all refrigerant before opening the system.

Remove contaminated oil with the compressor in case of motor burnout.
