Remove the two hex head capscrews holding the counterweight shim stack

Slide the shims out one at a time off the counterweight hub

Vibrating Frame Spring Replacement

Lockout/Tagout power to screen as detailed in Chapter 1.

Remove the drive belt(s) from the electric motor(s) as detailed in Chapter 3.

Spring Removal

Check mark

Remove the friction dampening puck from each base assembly by removing the access cover and pulling the spring and friction puck out of the base assembly.

Check mark

Lift the screen several inches off the screen springs and base frame using a lift hoist and spreader frame of sufficient capacity for your model screen.

Block the screen up on blocking of sufficient capacity to support the screen.

Check the spring free height. New springs have a free height of 15.5 in. (39.4 cm).

Remove the capscrews holding the backplate to the support frame.

Lower the backplate to the ground.

Support the discharge lip with straps and a hoist.

Remove the six capscrews and locknuts holding the discharge lip assembly.

Lower the discharge lip assembly to the ground.

Replace wire panels that no longer maintain tension over the complete surface area.

Check that screen is tight against all buffer and crown bars.
