Use a screwdriver to short out the pins on the corresponding board

Did the LED turn on when the pins were shorted?

Is the switch working correctly when plugged back in?

Describe any issues found with the board or switch

WARNING: Disconnect 115VAC - 120VAC power from the main power lines at the panel box before continuing.

Remove the four 5/16” mounting nuts on the sides of the Bill Validator

Disconnect the Mars Bill Validator from the cable leading to the Miscellaneous IO board

Check that all parts are removed

Cleaning the Portal's Plastic Casing

Clean the casing with a 1 to 1 solution of water and Simple Green concentrate.

Use a plastic brush with the Simple Green solution to clean the unit.

Rinse the solution off the unit using a low-pressure stream of water.

Work out dark stains or colored gouges with a Steel wool pad or Brillo pad.

Ensure no pressure washer is used on the unit.

Ensure water is directed only in a small, downward stream into sensitive areas.

Remove the coin hopper from the unit.

Obtain card reader cleaning cards (Unitec stock #MS2031)

Ensure cleaning cards are from a reliable distributor or manufacturer

Insert and remove the cleaning card into the card reader several times

Use both sides of the cleaning card for cleaning

Check if the card reader acceptance rate has improved

Describe any issues encountered during cleaning

Removing Jammed Bill from the Transportation Area

Move the jammed bill to the transportation area while turning the manual knob

Slowly take out the jammed bill while turning the manual knob

Verify that the transportation belts are properly aligned on their respective pulleys

Removing Jammed Bill from the Dispensing Area

Press down the metal fitting of dispensing roller and turn the manual knob to gently remove the jammed bill
