Shifter Fork Removal
CAUTION! Handle the shifter fork with care.
Ensure the shifter fork is handled carefully to avoid damage to the magnet.
Shifter Fork Removal Steps
Remove components from the shifter fork
Remove the shifter fork from the piston by sliding it up to the narrowest point on the piston.
Filter Replacement
Preparation
Relieve the system pressure
Ensure the melter is in automatic scan mode
Filter Removal
Use an 8 mm hex wrench or an adjustable wrench to loosen and remove the filter
Disposal
Properly dispose of the old filter
New Filter Installation
Confirm that the O-ring on the new filter is in good condition
Tank Rtd Removal
De-energize the melter
Open the pump enclosure door
Remove the RTD
Apply thermal compound to the RTD

Cleaning the Exterior of the Melter, Hoses, and Applicators
Remove any hot melt that collects on the exterior
Use citrus-based or other compatible cleaning compounds with polyester
Apply cleaning compounds using a soft cloth

De-energize the melter
Turn off the plant air supply to the melter and disconnect the air filter
Open the pump enclosure door
Lower Ball Seat Assembly / Piston Removal
CAUTION: Handle the piston with care. Damaging the precision machined surface of the piston can result in failure of the pump.
Disassembly Steps
Unscrew the lower ball seat assembly (2) from the pump body.
Pull the piston (1) out of the bottom of the pump body.
Post-Disassembly Check
Inspect the piston for any signs of damage.
Inspect the lower ball seat assembly for any signs of wear or damage.
Documentation
Describe any issues found during disassembly.
