Lower Ball Seat Assembly / Piston Removal
CAUTION: Handle the piston with care. Damaging the precision machined surface of the piston can result in failure of the pump.
Lower Ball Seat Assembly Removal
Unscrew the lower ball seat assembly (2) from the pump body.
Piston Removal
Pull the piston (1) out of the bottom of the pump body.
Refer to Figure D-13 for visual guidance.
Valve Spool / Sleeve Removal
Valve Spool Removal
Carefully slide the valve spool out of the valve sleeve and set it aside onto a clean cloth.
Detent and Spring Removal
Remove the two M4 screws.
Separate the upper detent and spring from the air manifold.
Flange Removal
Remove the two M5 screws.
Remove the flange.
Valve Sleeve Removal
Piston Cup Removal
Piston Nut Removal
Hold the piston in-place by its wrench flats
Remove the M6 torque nut (1)
Piston Cup and Seal Washer Removal
Remove the following components
Describe any issues encountered during removal
Post Removal Check
Are all components removed successfully?

Pump From The Melter Removal
Relieve system pressure
Isolate the pump from the manifold
Remove the three M8 pump-mounting bolts from the front of the pump body
Rotate the top of the pump slightly toward the front of the melter while pulling the pump away from the manifold
Remove the air line from the back of the pump
Lift the pump clear of the melter, and place it in a bench vise or other suitable mount
Tank Cleaning
Preparation
Ensure the tank is empty by operating the melter normally.
Adjust the melter to the temperature recommended by the cleaning fluid manufacturer.
Press the Pump key to stop the pump.
Cleaning when changing hot melt
Wear appropriate protective equipment.
Wipe any residual hot melt from the inside of the tank.
Add the appropriate type and quantity of hot melt cleaning fluid to the tank.
Press the Pump key to start the pump.
