15000 Hourly / 2 Yearly Motor and Gear Box Lubricant Change

Warning: Only perform this procedure if you are trained and authorized

Drain lubricant when warm

Use only the stated lubricant or one that has proven to be equivalent

Using any other lubricant can result in premature wear and/or damage to the gear box

Properly dispose of the old lubricant according to local regulations

Gear box removed from the motor?

Casing washed with suitable cleaning agent and lubricant residue removed?

Lubricant Changing Interval: When lubricant temperature is below 100° C / 212° F: Every 15000 hours of operation or at least every 2 to 3 years

1 Daily Fan And Air Filter Maintenance

Depending on dust accumulation, the air filters in the fan and for the air outlet must be cleaned (knocked out) or replaced.

Refer to separate document Parts for filter order numbers.

1 Daily Melter Cleaning

CAUTION: Observe the unit’s Degree of Protection when cleaning. Refer to page 12-3, Electrical Data.

CAUTION: Do not damage or remove safety labels. Damaged or removed safety labels must be replaced by new ones.

Remove material residue with a recommended cleaning agent

Heat with an air heater if necessary

Remove dust, flakes etc. with a vacuum cleaner or a soft cloth

Motor / gear box: Clean fan cover

Sign off on the daily melter cleaning

1 Daily Melter Inspection

WARNING!: When damaged parts endanger the operating safety and/or the safety of personnel, switch off the bulk melter and have the damaged parts replaced by qualified personnel. Use only original Nordson spare parts.
